Some 296 people and in particular 10 airline pilots, five in Air Astana, three in SCAT and two from other airlines, two air traffic controllers and 284 air stewards were suspended from flying in Kazakhstan in 2012 following a pre-flight medical examination, the Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee said.
According to the list of professions approved by the Kazakh government, before a flight each crew member must undergo a medical examination to ensure the safety of passengers.
There are similar rules for example in Russia and some other CIS countries.
