Kazakhstan reveals measures to develop digital industry

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct.30

Trend:

Kazakhstan plans to introduce the concept of ‘virtual teacher of computer science’, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin said, speaking about plans for the development of the digital industry in the country, Trend reports citing Kazinform correspondent.

According to Musin, in general, the IT industry consists of three main elements.

“The first element is the development of human capital, which is the most important for our country. That is people with math skills who know programming languages or who have analytical skills and data analytics. There are many specialties. Therefore, we say that the main resource, the main raw material for our industry is human capital. The second task is the acceleration of projects - a kind of help to startups or IT entrepreneurs so that they are more prepared for doing business in the IT sphere. The third is securing the necessary funding,” he said.

“These three blocks, if they work correctly, then, in principle, the President's instruction to achieve $50 million in exports in 2025 will be achieved,” Musin stressed.

The minister also noted that in terms of human capital development, the concept of "virtual teacher in informatics" will be introduced.

“In some district centers or districts, computer science teachers or programming teachers are in short supply and the quality of their training is poor. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, a pilot project is being implemented in 150 schools in the East Kazakhstan region. This experience will be replicated everywhere, so that all children have the opportunity to receive quality lessons in computer science and programming, regardless of distance,” Musin noted.
