Kazakhstan’s manufacturing industry maintains stable growth – ministry

The manufacturing industry maintains stable growth, the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov said, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.

“The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his address to the people of Kazakhstan, instructed to increase the growth of the manufacturing industry by 1.5 times by 2025. To achieve the goal, two main tasks have been set,” Atamkulov said.

He noted that the first task is the launch of new projects in the manufacturing industries within the framework of the Industrialization Map and large investment projects. The second is the implementation of new measures of state stimulation of industry, provided for in the draft law "On industrial policy".

According to the results of ten months, the manufacturing industry maintains stable growth. The physical volume index increased by 5.3 percent and amounted to 13.4 trillion tenge ($30.6 billion), which exceeds the volume of the same period last year.

“Practically in all sectors of the industry, there is a positive trend. In 2021, the regions, within the framework of the Industrialization Map, are planning to launch 139 projects totaling 1.3 trillion tenge ($3 billion) with the creation of 12,700 new permanent jobs. As of November, 83 projects were put into operation for a total of one trillion tenge ($2.3 billion), about 9,000 permanent jobs were created,” the minister said.
