Kazakhstan eyes to launch projects in several regions in 2022

It’s planned to launch 90 projects totaling 1.4 trillion tenge ($2.9 billion) in 2022 in the regions of Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

According to the ministry, at the respective enterprises, 10,800 new permanent jobs will be opened.

The projects are planned to be implemented in such industries as:

food - 20 projects;

construction - 13 projects;

chemical industry - seven projects;

metallurgy - 11 projects;

oil refining - five projects;

pharmaceuticals - five projects;

mechanical engineering - 15 projects;

light industry - seven projects;

woodworking - four projects;

other industries - three projects.

The largest number of projects will be implemented in such regions as Akmola, Kostanay and Zhambyl, as well as in the cities of Shymkent and Nur-Sultan.

The key projects include:

1. "Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc." LLP (gas chemical complex) in the Atyrau region. The integrated gas chemical complex will process 629,000 tons of propane and produce 500,000 tons of polypropylene per year.

2. "KazAlPack" LLP plant for the production of aluminum cans in Shymkent. The project is being implemented as part of the "Economy of Simple Things" program, the main goal of which is to saturate the domestic market with locally produced goods.

As part of the project, it’s planned to produce deep-drawn aluminum cans with easy-to-open lids of various sizes, intended for bottled drinks. The maximum production capacity will be 500 million cans per year.

3. "KamaTyresKZ" LLP plant for the production of tires. The Saransk Tire Plant will produce passenger, light truck and truck tires and operate with a capacity of 3.5 million tires per year.

The plant in Kazakhstan will be provided with modern, high-quality equipment, with the help of which it's planned to produce high-margin tires. The assortment of goods will be determined taking into account regional needs.

4. "Standard Petroleum & Co" LLP (construction of an oil refinery in the Turkestan region). The plant's production capacity will be one million tons per year.

5. "Altyn Shyghys" LLP (construction of an oil extraction plant in the East Kazakhstan region). The plant for the processing of multi-crops with a capacity of up to 300,000 tons per year is one of the large-scale investment projects in the region. The cost of this project is 28 billion tenge ($57 million).
