BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. Kazakhstan produced 18.7 million liters of fruit and vegetable juices from January through April 2022, 2.1 percent less than a year earlier, Trend reports with reference to Energyprom.kz monitoring agency.

In the regional context, most drinks were produced in the Almaty region - 10 million liters, increasing 32.6 percent in a year. The top three regions also included Nur-Sultan (4.6 million liters, a decrease of 27.1 percent in a year) and the Kostanay region (2 million liters, 17.9 percent up than a year).

Generally, the production of fruit and vegetable juices in Kazakhstan amounted to 66.6 million liters, an annual growth of 13.1 percent.

The production of fruit juices reached 17.4 million liters, 3.1 percent less than a year earlier, and vegetable juices - 1.3 million liters, 14 percent more than a year ago.

Orange juice (6.4 million liters) and apple juice (4.9 million liters) account for most of the production of fruit juices. The production of a mixture of fruit juices amounted to 4.6 million liters, and pineapple juice – 505,400 liters.

Tomato juice production, among vegetable juices, reached 1.26 million liters, up 14.8 percent year on year.

According to the results for first-quarter 2022, local companies provided demand (sales on local market plus export) for fruit and vegetable juices by 58.3 percent against 51.2 percent a year earlier.

Imports amounted to 41.7 percent in 1Q2022 (13,100 tons), a decrease of 5.6 percent for the year.

A total of 30,700 tons of fruit and vegetable juices were sold in the local market of Kazakhstan, which is 9 percent more than a year earlier.

According to the results of May 2022, prices for vegetable and fruit juices in Kazakhstan increased by 16.6 percent over the year. Fruit juices rose in price by 16.5 percent, vegetables - by 19.2 percent.

Highest annual price increase of fruit and vegetable juices recorded in the Turkestan region- by 25 percent per year. The three anti-leaders also included Almaty and North-Kazakhstan region. The smallest annual price increase was recorded in the West Kazakhstan region - by 5.1 percent.

Fruit juices rose most noticeably in the Turkestan region (by 24.9 percent per year), vegetables - in the Atyrau region (by 33.5 percent).
