Kazakhstan reveals growth rates of national economy for 7M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. The growth rate of Kazakhstan’s economy amounted to 3.3 percent from January through July 2022, Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov said at the governmental meeting, Trend reports citing the government.

According to Kuantyrov, in the reporting period for main trends high growth in the real sector (3.4 percent), acceleration of growth in the service sector, and maintenance of trade surplus were recorded.

Meanwhile, the business activity in the service sector accelerated by 2.5 percent (versus 2.1 percent in 1H2021), construction sector grew by 8.6 percent, information and communication - by 6.5 percent, trade - by 6.2 percent, transport and warehousing - by 5.6 percent, processing industry - by 4.9 percent, agriculture - by 2.1 percent, and mining industry - by one percent.

At the same time, the increase of fixed capital investments equaled 4.5 percent (versus 2.6 percent in 1H2021), investments in public administration and social security grew by 99.2 percent, education - by 74.8 percent, trade - by 26.4 percent, healthcare - by 26.3 percent, real estate operations - by 19.9 percent, financial and insurance activities - by 17.3 percent, construction - by 14.8 percent.

In the regional context, the best indicators were recorded in the cities of Shymkent (growth by 28.6 percent) and Almaty (by 24.3 percent), as well as in Almaty region (by 14.9 percent) and Zhetysu region (14.4 percent). A decrease was recorded in the regions of Ulytau (by 35.3 percent) and Abay (by 12.9 percent), as well as in Atyrau (by 5.9 percent) and Karaganda (by 1.9 percent) regions, added Kuantyrov.
