BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Electricity generation in Kazakhstan amounted to 8.8 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in July 2022, which is 0.9 percent less compared to July 2021 and 5.5 percent more than in June 2022, Trend reports via Kazakh Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, electricity generation in Kazakhstan amounted to 65.7 billion kWh from January through July 2022, which is 1.2 percent less than the same period last year.

Kazakhstan's electricity imports amounted to 96.7 million kWh in July 2022, which is 67.2 percent less compared to July 2021, but 42.8 percent less than in June 2022.

Import of electricity by Kazakhstan amounted to 883.6 million kWh from January through July 2022, which is 15.8 percent less than in the same period last year.

Kazakhstan exported 139.7 million kWh of electricity in July 2022, which is 34.5 percent less compared to July 2021, but 8.8 percent more than in June 2022.

Kazakh electricity exports amounted to 1 billion kWh from January through July 2022, which is 48.4 percent less than in the same period last year.

According to committee, 8.7 billion kWh of electricity were sold locally in July 2022, which is 2.3 percent less compared to July 2021 and 4.5 percent less than in June 2022.

Volume of sale of electricity on Kazakh domestic market from January through July 2022 amounted to 65.5 billion kWh, which is the same as in the reporting period of 2021.
