BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Kazakhstan’s international logistics hub role contributes to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (also known as the Middle Corridor), an international transport route stretching from Europe to Asia, a source at Nurminen Logistics told Trend.

Nurminen Logistics, one of the first operators of the Trans-Caspian route, revealed that the company remains interested in developing the route further in line with the corporate commitment to reduce emissions and assist sustainable growth.

The company is currently working on increasing the Kazakh client base willing to use containers in their European trade, in addition to analyzing opportunities to make the Central European countries more competitive in Central Asia.

The company launched a regular and high-speed shuttling service to and from Kazakhstan via Altynkol, Kazakhstan to Poti or Batumi, Georgia route three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The service reduces transit time, and, according to the source at Nurminen Logistics, initial feedback is positive.

Nurminen Logistics said that Middle Corridor provides Central Asian states with interesting business opportunities, and the company considers Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to be the potential biggest gainers from the implementation of the route.

Nurminen Logistics established its presence in Kazakhstan after signing an agreement on cooperation with the national railway operator of Kazakhstan "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy".

Recently, the company was a part of the Finnish delegation traveling to Kazakhstan to discuss the perspectives for cooperation between businesses from Finland and Kazakhstan.
