BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. The Kazakh and Czech companies signed numerous agreements following the Kazakh-Czech Business Forum in Astana, Trend reports via the office of the Kazakh Prime Minister.

Among the concluded agreements, there were contracts with such leading Czech companies as Škoda Transportation, EGAP export insurance agency, and the Czech Export Bank, etc. The overall amount of agreements reached 230 million euros.

Today, the Kazakh-Czech Business Forum was held in Astana. The Forum aims to strengthen the economic relationships between the two countries, establish commercial contacts, and foster mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakh and Czech business groups.

Along with Kazakh PM Alikhan Smailov and his Czech counterpart Petr Fiala, the Forum was attended by heads of central and local state bodies, national and quasi-state companies, representatives of sectoral and regional business associations as well as heads of leading Czech companies. In general, 150 delegates are participating in the Forum.

During the Forum, the sides discussed cooperation, prospects for increasing trade turnover, and developing new projects.

Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic sharply increased in 2022, reaching over $370 million, which is 67 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year ($252 million).
