BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas national company and Italy's Eni oil and gas company signed an Agreement on Principles regarding the construction project of a hybrid power plant in Zhanaozen of Kazakhstan's Mangistau Region, Trend reports.
The agreement was signed during the meeting between Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokatev and Chief Executive Officer of Eni Claudio Descalzi.
The sides discussed the prospects for the construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 4 billion cubic meters in Kazakhstan's Karachaganak.
Furthermore, during the meeting, issues related to the activities of the company in Kazakhstan were discussed, as well as plans for the implementation of major oil and gas projects in the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields. The head of state was informed about the key areas of the consortium's work for the further development of the country's oil and gas industry.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Eni is one of Kazakhstan's strategic partners in the energy sector, acknowledging its contribution to the development of our country's largest oil fields.
