Kazakhstan's short-term economic indicator shows positive results

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. The short-term economic indicator in Kazakhstan increased by 4.5 percent from January through May 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

According to the country's Bureau of National Statistics, in the reporting period, the highest growth in indexes of the physical volume was observed in the construction (12.1 percent), trade (10.2 percent), and communication (9.1 percent) sectors.

On the other hand, the lowest growth was observed in the industrial (2.4 percent), agricultural (3.5 percent), and transportation (7.2 percent) sectors.

Furthermore, from January through May 2023, most regions experienced positive growth rates in the economic indicator.

Negative growth rates were only recorded in the Karaganda region (-7.6 percent) and Aktobe region (-5 percent). The highest growth rates were observed in Almaty city (22.2 percent) and the Zhetsu (17.1 percent), Akmola (13.2 percent), North Kazakhstan (12.4 percent), and Abai (10.5 percent) regions.
