BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. Kazakhstan's imports of textile and textile products reached $960.6 million from January through April 2023, Trend reports.
According to the data provided by the country's Bureau of National Statistics, this figure is 2.3 times more than in the same period of the previous year ($415.1 million).
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's import of textile and textile products from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) decreased by 7.05 percent and totaled $126.5 million against $136.1 million from January through April 2022. From the rest of the world, Kazakhstan imported fabrics and textile goods worth $834.04 million, which demonstrates a remarkable growth of 2.9 times.
The share of imports of textile and textile products in the overall imports of Kazakhstan amounted to 5.1 percent.
Overall, from January through April 2023, Kazakhstan imported goods worth $18.9 billion, which is 40.3 percent against $13.4 billion in the same period last year.
