Kazakhstan, China agree to accelerate development of freight terminal in Xi'an Dry Port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ - Kazakhstan Railways), Kedentransservice JSC and China's Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co. Ltd. agreed on accelerating the development of project estimates and the acquisition of land for the freight terminal in Xi'an Dry Port, Trend reports.

This issue was discussed during the meeting between the leadership of KTZ, Kedentransservice and the Director General of the Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co. Ltd., Yuan Xiaojun, held to discuss the implementation of a joint logistics project for the construction of a freight terminal in Xi'an's dry port.

According to the KTZ, at the meeting, technical and organizational-administrative issues were addressed. It was noted that the completion of the terminal is scheduled for the end of 2023.

The Chinese side also highlighted the role of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR - Middle Corridor) as a vital link in modern logistics and expressed interest in the project for the establishment of a container hub in the port of Aktau.

In order to explore the potential participation of Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd. in KTZ's infrastructure projects and strengthen further cooperation, the Xi'an delegation visited Altynkol terminals, Almaty, and the port of Aktau.
