BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Georgia from January to April this year amounted to $167 million, an increase of 5 times, Trend reports.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov during a meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi.

According to him, last year the trade turnover between the countries increased 7 times, reaching a record figure of $600 million.

"These are very good indicators that allow us to outline plans to reach the billion threshold in the near future," Alikhan Smailov said.

He stressed that Georgia is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan, and also added that the main core of bilateral cooperation remains cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.

Georgia and Kazakhstan have unique advantages and resources, which promotes versatile cooperation and mutually beneficial exchange of goods and services.

Both countries actively cooperate within the framework of various international organizations, such as the WTO and UN, which helps to establish standards and rules for trade between them.
