BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. The uranium hexafluoride sales volume of Kazatomprom JSC, Kazakhstan's national operator for the import and export of uranium and other rare materials, reached 16,358 tons in 2022, Trend reports.
"Based on the results of 2022, the sales volume of uranium hexafluoride amounted to 16,358 tons. The revenues over the last year reached 1.2 trillion tenge ($2.6 billion)," Erzhan Mukanov, Kazatomprom Chairman of Board, said during a meeting at the Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Kazakhstan's sovereign wealth fund.
He added that there has been a consistent growth trend in uranium sales revenue over the past five years.
"The cumulative growth has more than doubled, and the net income for the company's shareholders in 2022 was 348 billion tenge ($771 million). As for dividends, in 2022, based on the results of 2021, we paid out 227 billion tenge ($503 million), which is 52 percent more year-on-year. Compared to 2018, the cumulative growth in dividend payments amounted to 41 percent," Mukanov said.
He also highlighted the significant tax contributions, with the majority of 293.6 billion tenge ($650.5 million) paid to the republican budget, while approximately 20.5 billion tenge ($45.4 million) was allocated to local budgets.
