ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 15. Kazakhstan's export of goods to Russia totaled $4.04 billion from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
According to Kazakhstan's Bureau of National Statistics, this figure is 45 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year, when Kazakh exports to Russia amounted to $2.79 billion.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's import of goods from Russia saw a slight decrease of almost 5 percent. From January through May 2023, Kazakhstan imported products from Russia worth $6.4 billion, while in the same period last year, this figure stood at $6.8 billion.
The total turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia in the reporting period amounted to $10.5 billion. The share of the turnover with Russia accounted for 18.8 percent of the total turnover of Kazakhstan, while from January through May 2022 this number was 18.6 percent.
Overall, Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover totaled $55.8 billion from January through May 2023, which is 8 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year ($51.3 billion).
