ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 4. Kazakhstan increased grain exports to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, Trend reports.

As Deputy General Director of KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP Nurzhan Kelbuganov said, compared to the previous season, grain exports to Uzbekistan increased by 31 percent, to Tajikistan by 30 percent, to Afghanistan by 48 percent.

Kazakhstan Railways said that from September 2022 to June 2023, grain loading increased by 29 percent compared to the previous season, exports - by 33 percent. Loading of grinding products increased by 28 percent, export - by 31 percent.

In the direction of Saryagash interstate junction point, exports of grain increased by 33 percent, milled products - by 20 percent. Thanks to joint work with the Uzbek Railway Administration, the throughput of the crossing has increased from 18 to 30 trains per day.

In the current season, the transportation of grain to China increased 4 times and reached 1.1 million tons. At the same time, the Chinese side asks to increase the transportation of grain cargo in containers through the Altynkol-Khorgos crossing.

KTZ maintains active communications with all stakeholders to ensure efficient transportation of new crop grain. The northern regions of Kazakhstan (Akmola, Kostanay and North-Kazakhstan) are leaders in the production of grain and milling products and the largest exporters of grain in the country.
