Polish businessmen to grow co-op with Kazakhstan in various fields - ministry (Exclusive)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 18. Polish entrepreneurs are interested in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan in several directions, a source at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland told Trend.

"We see opportunities for Polish entrepreneurs to participate in the implementation of a number of environmental projects in Kazakhstan. For example, the implementation of projects in the fields of comprehensive waste management and other spheres in line with Kazakhstan's demand is under consideration. Apart from the above-mentioned projects in the field of environmental protection, Polish entrepreneurs are interested in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan in such areas as agriculture and food processing, construction, the medical sector, the IT/ICT sector, as well as mining industries," the source said.

According to the Ministry, we shouldn’t forget about the opportunities for cooperation in the industrial and machinery sectors.

"To this end, as a result of the findings of the 9th meeting of the Polish-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Economic Commission and Business Forum (held in June 2023 in Warsaw), a working group was established to identify prospective projects in a given area (the group included sectoral business support organizations and representatives of the administrations of both countries)," the Ministry said.

In addition, as the ministry said, Poland’s trade turnover with Kazakhstan in the first half of 2023 increased by 30.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

"In the first half of 2023 (from January through June), Poland's trade turnover with Kazakhstan (according to the Polish preliminary data in USD) increased by 30.3 percent ($1.40 billion) compared to the same period of 2022, including Polish exports, which increased by 88.1 percent ($733.4 million) and Polish imports, which decreased by 2.7 percent ($665 million)," the source said.
