ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 26. Kazakhstan and Belarus have already implemented eight projects worth $180 million, on the basis of which 1,400 new jobs have been created, said Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Trend reports.
Smailov noted that Belarus is an important trade and economic partner for Kazakhstan. Last year, bilateral trade turnover grew by 23 percent and crossed the threshold of $1 billion. According to the PM, in order to maintain high growth dynamics, it is necessary to continue working together to expand the range of goods and services supplied.
"At the same time, one of the drivers of partnership between countries is industrial cooperation. There are two projects worth $19 million at the implementation stage. At the same time, the departments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus are working on the launch of four more projects worth over $100 million with the creation of about 800 jobs," he said during a meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.
As he noted, Kazakhstan is interested in developing industrial cooperation, implementing new joint projects, and expanding the capacity of existing production facilities.
In turn, the PM of Belarus noted that successful cooperation projects between Kazakhstan and Belarus can serve as a model for the further development of this area.
"The existing joint production facilities already allow us to produce up to 10,000 tractors and up to 1,000 combines per year in Kazakhstan. We look forward to further support for these projects," he added.
