ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 26. Kazakhstan Railways will purchase 108,000 tons of rails, more than 1.5 million sets of reinforced concrete sleepers, and rail fastenings for the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk-Moyynty railway section, Trend reports.
The components of the upper track structure, which are produced at domestic enterprises, are delivered to temporary link assembly bases located at the stations Zharyk, Aktogay, Orta-Deresin, and Zhaksybulak. At the bases, railroad tie gratings are assembled using a railway crane.
The finished gratings are sent to storage bases on special platforms, and when the subgrade is ready, they are delivered to the laying sites. To date, about 170 km of track grid has been prepared.
Today, the installation of the upper track structure is carried out on the sections Moyynty - Buyrek, Buyrek - Sarykum, Sarykum - Kokdombak, Akzhaydak - Ashyozek, Sayak - Section 1, Kokdombak - Balkhash 1.
In general, the construction of 836 km of second tracks is on schedule. Work has been carried out on more than 600 km of the site. Artificial structures are being built, and culverts are being installed.
The project is scheduled to be completed by 2025. 836 km of second tracks will increase the capacity of the heavily loaded Dostyk-Moyynty section by 5 times.
