ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 29. President Kasym-Jomart Tokaev held a meeting with the chairman of the board of HMS Bergbau AG, Dennis Schwindt, in Berlin, Trend reports.

During the meeting, it was noted that Kazakhstan welcomes foreign investors and is ready to provide them with favorable conditions for the successful implementation of projects.

Tokayev noted that one of the key areas for the development of cooperation is the extraction and processing of rare earth metals, pointing to the growing need for lithium in the economies of developed countries around the world.

In turn, the head of HMS Bergbau AG presented a project for the construction of a mining and processing plant for the extraction and processing of lithium in the East Kazakhstan region. According to him, the total amount of planned investments will be $500 million.

Tokayev noted the importance of such investment projects for the country’s economy and maintaining its competitiveness on the world stage.

HMS Bergbau AG is one of the leading independent companies in Germany engaged in the exploration and production of solid minerals. It is actively working on the extraction of raw materials in the US, Singapore, South Africa, Indonesia, Poland, the UAE, and Botswana.
