ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 4. Kazakhstan may begin importing petroleum products from Turkmenistan and China, said the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almassadam Satkaliyev during the XV KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum, Trend reports.
Speaking about the import of petroleum products from countries other than Russia, the minister noted that there are certain rules associated with the import of petroleum products into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
"Those plants that supply petroleum products to our territory must be certified in accordance with the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Some factories, as far as I know, have expressed their intention to be certified," he said.
Among the potential suppliers of petroleum products in the EAEU countries, Satkaliyev named oil refineries of Turkmenistan and China.
"This process is ongoing," he added.
Import supplies of petroleum products to Kazakhstan decreased in 2022 to 424,100 tons from 567,200 tons in 2021.
