ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 14. Steady growth has been achieved in the main sectors of the economy of the West Kazakhstan region from January through September 2023, said the head of the executive power (akim) of the region Nariman Turegaliyev, Trend reports.
Growth in the region's manufacturing industry amounted to 20.5 percent, gross agricultural output - an increase of 5.5 percent, the volume of construction work - an increase of 42 percent, housing commissioning - an increase of 0.5 percent, investment in fixed capital - an increase of 23 percent, the volume of domestic trade - an increase of 19.2 percent, the volume of transport services - an increase of 8.3 percent.
In addition, the volume of industrial production in the region during the reporting period amounted to 2.6 trillion tenge (about $5.6 billion), an increase of 3.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, the volume of the manufacturing industry increased by 20.5 percent and amounted to 218 billion tenge (about $467 million).
According to him, growth is also observed in the metallurgical industry, oil refining, mechanical engineering, production of furniture and beverages.
The volume of retail trade in the region from January through September 2023 amounted to 375.8 billion tenge (about $808 million) or 110.5 percent compared to the level of January-September 2022 (in comparable prices).
The volume of wholesale trade amounted to 402.8 billion tenge (about $864 million) or 127.9 percent of the level from January through September 2022 (in comparable prices).
According to preliminary data, from January through August 2023, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to $594.9 million, which is 14.7 percent more than from January through August 2022, including exports - $155.3 million (an increase of 59 percent), imports - $439.6 million (an increase of 4.4 percent).
