ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 29. Kazakhstan will export stone fruits to China, Trend reports.
A corresponding protocol was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.
According to the agreed protocol, Kazakh fresh stone fruits (including peaches and apricots) for export must conform with all applicable Chinese phytosanitary rules and regulations, health and safety standards, and be free of quarantine pests.
All orchards and packaging enterprises wishing to export stone fruits to China must be registered with the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and approved by both the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the General Administration of Customs of China.
In addition, packaged stone fruits should be stored in a chamber containing only stone fruits. Each box must be labeled in Chinese or English with the name of the fruit, the exporting country, the place of production, the name or code of the orchard, and the packing enterprise.
To date, Kazakhstan has signed protocols with China for the export of 23 types of crop and livestock products, including wheat, flax seeds, barley, alfalfa, corn, honey, wool, dairy products, beef, lamb, pork, and others.
In 2022, Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with China amounted to $24.1 billion, which is 34.1 percent more than a year earlier.
Exports from Kazakhstan increased over the year by 34.7 percent, to $13.2 billion. The share of Kazakhstan's exports to China accounted for a significant 15.6 percent of the country's total trade turnover.
Imports from China to Kazakhstan grew by 33.5 percent over the year, to $11 billion. China's share in the structure of imports from the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 21.9 percent.
