Kazakhstan's KazTransOil aspires to triple Russian oil transit to Uzbekistan in 2024

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 29. KazTransOil JSC plans to triple the volume of transit of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Director of the Transportation Department of KazTransOil JSC Abay Beysembayev said, Trend reports.

Thus, Sanoat Energetika Guruhi company (Uzbekistan) has submitted an application to KazTransOil JSC for 2024 for the transit of 500,000 tons of Russian oil to Uzbekistan with the possibility of increasing to 1 million tons.

The volume of Russian oil transiting to Uzbekistan via KazTransOil's main oil pipeline system is estimated to be 154,000 tons in 2023. KazTransOil JSC transported 104,000 tons of Russian oil to Uzbekistan between January and October 2023.

KazTransOil JSC transfers Russian oil across Kazakhstani territory to Uzbekistan in accordance with the Kazakhstan Ministry of Energy's approved oil delivery timetable.

Pumping of Russian oil to Uzbekistan via KazTransOil JSC's main oil pipeline system began in 2017. In 2017, the transit volume was 67,900 tons, and in 2018, it was 36,000 tons.

There was no Russian oil transit through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan from 2019 to 2022.

Since February 1, 2023, KazTransOil JSC has increased the tariff for the Russian-origin oil transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan from $25.12 to $27.9 per 1 ton (excluding VAT).

KazTransOil JSC is the Kazakhstan's national operator of the main oil pipeline. It is part of the KazMunayGas JSC (Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company) group. KazTransOil JSC owns a diversified network of main oil pipelines 5,400 km in length.
