Thus, according to data from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, in 2013 the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $371 million. In 2022, this figure increased to $598.4 million.
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan over the past 10 years:
Year | Volume |
2013 | $371 million |

As the data above shows, the steady increase of trade turnover started to rise after 2016. That year, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan signed a number of important treaties. This significantly boosted the trade turnover between the two countries. Also, the same year, an association for promoting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) was established, which indirectly helped to boost the Azerbaijan-Kazakstan trade further, since TITR, originating from China, passes through Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The only visible downturn occurred in 2020, due to the unexpected COVID-19 outbreak.
In addition, the total trade turnover between the countries from 2013 through 2022 amounted to $2.35 billion.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan's total trade turnover in 2022 amounted to $52.6 billion, which is 55 percent more than in 2021 ($33.9 billion).

Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover in 2022 reached a historically high level of $134.4 billion.
