ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 2. The UAE will participate in the development of low-carbon energy in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
In this respect, a memorandum of understanding was signed in this regard between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and the UAE's Ministry of Investment on the development of low-carbon energy with a total capacity of 10 GW on Kazakhstani territory.
By the end of 2022, the Republic will have 130 renewable energy facilities operational, totaling 2,400 MW (46 WPPs - 958 MW; 44 SPPs - 1148 MW; 37 HPPs - 280 MW; 3 BioPPs - 1.77 MW).
At the end of 2022, the volume of renewable energy output was 5.11 billion kWh (2.4 billion kWh from wind farms; 1.76 billion kWh from solar power plants; and 934 million kWh from hydroelectric power stations), or 4.53 percent of overall electrical energy production.
Last year, 12 renewable energy facilities were commissioned with a total capacity of 385 MW with a total investment of 180 billion tenge (about $374 million).
In 2023, 15 facilities with a total capacity of 276 MW will be commissioned.
