Gross industry output to increase in North Kazakhstan region

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 4. The gross volume of industry output will grow from 519 billion to 595 billion tenge by the end of 2023 in the North Kazakhstan region, said the head of the region Gauez Nurmukhambetov, Trend reports.

As he pointed out, the region's manufacturing industry accounts for more than 80 percent of the total. To maintain the rate of development and enhance the volume of industry in the region, a pool of 39 investment projects totaling 469 billion tenge (about $1.01 billion) has been developed and is being implemented, with the creation of around 6,000 jobs until 2026.

It is expected to implement 15 projects worth 56 billion tenge (approximately $120 million) in 2023, creating over 1,000 jobs.

"Of these, 5 projects have already been implemented; the remaining 10 will be put into operation by the end of the year," he added.

Work is already underway in the region to construct several plants, expand existing plants, and upgrade agricultural equipment, according to him.

Nurmukhambetov also spoke about plans to commission 300,000 square meters of housing, repair 770 km of roads, and provide settlements with communal infrastructure.

Industrial products worth 33.972 trillion tenge (about $70.9 billion) were produced in Kazakhstan from January through September 2023.

These products were produced in the mining industry for 15.925 trillion tenge, or about $33.2 billion (46.9 percent of the total volume), and in the manufacturing industry for 15.890 trillion tenge, or about $33.16 billion (46.8 percent).

Production growth is observed in the mining and quarrying industry by 5.4 percent, the manufacturing industry by 3.2 percent, the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air conditioning by 5.1 percent, the collection, processing, and disposal of waste, and pollution elimination activities by 5.6 percent.
