ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 6. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy and Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
The MoU aims to foster collaboration in the sector of digital energy. The parties will also implement coordinated creative projects in the sphere of digital energy as part of the pact.
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy believes that cooperation with Huawei will help to develop human capital and undertake cooperative research and educational programs.
Simultaneously, the memorandum establishes the framework for revising regulatory acts and harmonizing international standards in the field of energy system management, based on worldwide expertise and best practices in digital energy.
As Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas (KMG, a national company), Dmitry Makeyev previously stated that KMG is ready to expand cooperation with Huawei.
Makeyev noted that digitalization of production is one of KMG’s priorities. The Kazakh national company already operates a container data center, "Huawei Fusion Module 1000A.".
According to him, KazMunayGas' subsidiaries also widely use equipment from the Chinese company.
In 2022, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan and Huwaei Technologies Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of understanding on creating a digital hub in Kazakhstan.
Huawei is a leading global provider of advanced information and communications technology solutions. It ranks 2nd in the world in terms of investment in research and development (54.8 percent of the company's 195,000 employees are engaged in it) and 9th in the Best Global Brands ranking.
