ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 13. All sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan demonstrate positive growth rates based on the results of the 11 months of 2023, said Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov at a government meeting, Trend reports.

In particular, mechanical engineering grew by almost 27 percent. Significant growth was recorded in the light industry—almost 12 percent. As the PM noted, this happened due to an increase in textile production by 20 percent.

At the same time, the production of mineral products increased by more than 4 percent, the production of plastic products by 5 percent, and the production of food products by almost 2 percent.

The mining industry grew by more than 5 percent, driven by increases in oil and natural gas production. At the same time, high growth rates (an increase of 12 percent) were ensured in the construction sector; over 15 million square meters of new housing were commissioned.

Alikhan Smailov noted that a key factor in economic growth is the active attraction of investment.

“Next year, it is necessary to continue working to ensure high-quality economic growth. The government’s priority task for the medium term remains to ensure stable economic growth of at least 6 percent,” concluded the PM.

As previously stated by the Minister of National Economy, Alikhan Smailov, Kazakhstan's economic growth rate reached 4.9 percent from January through November 2023. Positive dynamics in the real sector amounted to 3.5 percent; in the service sector, they were 5.6 percent.
