ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 12. Kazakhstan has increased exports of goods to neighboring countries in 2023, Trend reports.
Thus, according to the Kazakhstan Railways, cargo transportation to China through rail border crossings in 2023 increased by 35 percent compared to the previous year, to 12.7 million tons. The export of grain, non-ferrous metals, petroleum products, etc. has increased significantly.
At the same time, exports of goods by rail to Uzbekistan increased by 29 percent, to 10 million tons. Petroleum products, chemicals and mineral fertilizers, and ferrous metals were exported by rail. About 3.5 million tons of grain were exported. Coal exports increased by 1.4 million tons and amounted to 3.1 million tons.
In addition, exports by rail to Russia last year increased by 1.1 million tons, to 34.6 million tons. In the export structure, coal transportation amounts to 20.3 million tons. Of these, 8.9 million tons of solid fuel were sent in transit through Russia to third countries.
As the Kazakhstan Railways noted, the positive dynamics of growth in the volume of cargo transportation was achieved thanks to the coordinated actions of all participants in transportation activities.
