ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 26. Kazakhstan and Croatia are bargaining to boost the volume of Kazakh oil sent to Eastern European countries through the Croatian Janaf oil pipeline, Trend reports.
This was stated during the first meeting of the Kazakh-Croatian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Zagreb. The meeting also noted that cooperation in the field of energy transportation is expanding.
One alternative for expanding export volumes could be to deliver energy to the island of Krk (in northern Croatia) and then transfer it via the Adria oil pipeline to the remainder of Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, and Slovenia.
Earlier, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliev, stated that oil output in Kazakhstan would be about 90 million tons in 2023, despite early plans to generate 92-93 million tons.
According to him, around 18 million tons of oil produced in 2023 went to the domestic market. Around 56 million tons were shipped by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
In addition, the country intends to raise oil production to 90.3 million tons by 2024.
