ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 27. The total volume of transportation of Kazakh oil through main pipelines and sea transport amounted to 80.3 million tons in 2023, Trend reports.

According to the data of KazMunayGas (KMG, Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company), compared to 2022, this figure increased by 7.6 percent.

Thus, the volume of oil transportation through main pipelines increased by 6.5 percent and amounted to 69.5 million tons. In KMG's view, the growth is due to an increase in the transportation of oil for export through the KazTransOil system in the direction of Germany, oil shipments through the port of Aktau in the direction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, as well as an increase in the delivery of oil from the Kashagan field to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium system.

In addition, the total volume of oil transportation by sea in the reporting year increased by 15.4 percent to 10.7 million tons. The increase in transportation volumes occurred mainly due to an increase in the export of Kazakh oil along the route Aktau port - Baku port and further along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.

Meanwhile, the volume of Kazakh oil exports from the port of Aktau along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline increased to 1.392 million tons in 2023, which is 5.5 times more compared to 2022 (from 250,000 tons).
