ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 8. A cement production plant will be launched in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, Azizkhan Ismailov, the head of the district, said, Trend reports.

"Ne Innovation Technology LLP is building a cement production plant in the Kazygurt district of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan for a total amount of 1 billion tenge (about $2.25 million). According to the plan, production, which will be launched in August this year, will employ 40 people on a permanent basis," he said.

In addition, Ismailov noted that in the district in 2024 it is planned to implement 67 investment projects worth 14 billion tenge (about $31.5 million). As a result, about 500 residents will be provided with jobs.

"Last year, 58 investment projects worth 4.2 billion tenge (about $9.4 million) were implemented in the region, 243 people were employed. In 2023, the volume of industrial production in the region amounted to 11.9 billion tenge (about $26.7 million), and this year it is planned to increase it to 15.3 billion tenge (about $34.4 million). Also, the number of small and medium-sized businesses over the past 4 years has increased by 60 percent and exceeded 14,000," he noted.

At the same time, he pointed out that last year the volume of agricultural production amounted to 68.5 billion tenge (about $154 million).

"This year, it is planned to increase it to 71.9 billion tenge (about $161.8 million). And the cultivated areas in which water-saving technology was introduced reached 3,194 hectares," he said.

In addition, the head pf the district reported on the work done in the field of infrastructure. "Currently, out of 61 settlements in the region, 59 are provided with drinking water, the figure is 96.7 percent. 98.4 percent of residents gained access to the electricity grid. In addition, 84 percent of district are covered by natural gas," Ismailov added.
