ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 25. QazaqGaz JSC (Kazakhstan's national company) and STRYDE (a subsidiary of BP) have signed a cooperation agreement, Trend reports.

The document was signed by the first deputy chairman of the Board of QazaqGaz, Meirbek Ikhsanov and the head of business development in North America and Australia at STRYDE Pete Shelton.

The signed paper is aimed at creating an Advanced Center for Processing and Managing Geological Data in Kazakhstan.

As QazaqGaz informed, the implementation of the project to create a data center will serve as the foundation for expanding the natural gas resource base, solving geotechnical problems, and improving the skills of Kazakhstani specialists.

As previously reported, QazaqGaz JSC and Emirati Presight (a data analytics firm owned by Abu Dhabi's G42 tech group) will cooperate in the field of digital transformation in Kazakhstan's gas industry. The corresponding agreement was signed between the parties on the sidelines of the COP 28 World Climate Summit in Dubai.

As part of the signed agreement, it is planned to implement a pilot project to increase the transparency of gas usage. At the same time, the parties are considering the issue of the joint development of a universal billing system for effective interaction between a subscriber and the gas company.

Based on the results of the pilot project, the possibility of using the technology throughout Kazakhstan will be considered.

This will improve data quality, minimize the human factor, and ensure more efficient data management, which, in turn, will lead to a significant reduction in losses during gas transportation.
