ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 16. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts a gradual decline in inflation in Kazakhstan in the coming years, Trend reports.
According to the latest World Economic Outlook report issued by the IMF, inflation in Kazakhstan will be 8.7 percent in 2024. Compared to the previous report, published in January 2024, the forecast has worsened by 1 percent.
In addition, in the IMF's view, inflation in 2025 will continue to decline and reach 7 percent. At the same time, in a January report, the IMF predicted inflation in Kazakhstan for 2025 at 6.2 percent.
Furthermore, inflation in Kazakhstan slowed down over the year and amounted to 9.8 percent in December 2023 (in November, 10.3 percent).
Prices for food products over the year increased by 8.5 percent (in November 2023, 9.2 percent), for non-food products, by 9.1 percent (in November 2023, 9.9 percent), and for paid services, by 12.4 percent (in November 2023, 12 percent).
In monthly terms, inflation decreased slightly and amounted to 0.8 percent (previous month: 1 percent).
