IMF satisfied with Kazakhstan's management of oil revenue

(kazinform) - We are satisfied with Kazakhstan's management of oil revenue. There was created transparent national oil fund in the state, Senior Advisor of IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department David Owen has stated today at a special press conference dedicated to the prospects of regional economy development.

According to him, oil fund turned to be a useful organization for Kazakhstan's economy. It provided high transparency of oil revenue. Policy of the fund's expenses is rational and careful. All these factors allow to finance infrastructure and social sector of economy, reports Trend.

Since the second half of 2007 the whole oil revenue will flow to the national oil fund but not to the budget. It will enable to raise transparency and efficiency of use of the oil fund's money, Mr. Owen noted. All technical changes will be discussed within a following week and then we will prepare conclusions on potential changes at Kazakhstan's monetary market, he added.
