(gazeta.kz) - The Brawl between Kazakhstani and Turkish workers in Atyrau region does not reflect the spirit of co-operation between Kazakhstan and Turkey, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, stated yesterday, October 30, at a traditional briefing in Astana.
"We would like to declare once again that the incident in no way reflects the spirit of co-operation between the brotherly nations of Kazakhstan and Turkey," - he stressed.
Mr. Ashikbayev reminded that "an ordinary quarrel served as one of superficial reasons for the conflict." At the same time he expressed a hope that "a working group created to investigate the conflict will provide all necessary information," about the reasons for it, reports Trend.
Mr. Ashikbayev confirmed that the MFA of RK maintained constant contacts with the embassy of Turkey to Kazakhstan, as well as the embassy of Kazakhstan to Turkey maintained their contact with the Turkish MFA.
The brawl took place at Tengiz oil field between Kazakhstani and Turkish workers of a construction subcontractor. Around 140 were injured in the fight.
