( Kazakhstan Today ) - Kazakhstan highly valuates the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP or ESCAP) role in UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA). This was said today on 63d ESCAP session by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, reports KZ-today correspondent.
"We are happy that cooperation enlargement questions in the frames of SPECA have taken a particular place in agenda of 63d ESCAP session and ESCAP Asian-Pacific business-forum", - said the president. According to Nursultan Nazarbayev, Central Asian countries geographic peculiarity is its inner-continental location. "Kazakhstan being the biggest according to territory country which does not have access to the sea is interested in different transit-transport pipeline projects realization and is ready to support them", - the president underlined.
On his opinion, "particular attention is necessary to address to Almaty action program for developing countries which does not have access to the sea effective realization". "To further inter-regional cooperation between Central Asia and ASEAN countries realization it is advisable to establish political and economic dialogue ASEAN plus Central Asia", - added Nursultan Nazarbayev.
