Members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir detained in Kyrgyzstan

Members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir extremist organization were detained in Kyrgyzstan, 24.kg reported.

According to the State National Security Committee (GKNB), they arrested four members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir on February 9 and 10 during investigative works. They are 36 year old native of Jalal-Abad oblast detained in Bishkek and natives of Chuy and Issyk-Kul oblasts detained in Tokmak city.

GKNB reports they withdrew big amount of extremist religious literature, leaflets, booklets, questionaries of Hizb-ut-Tahrir and electronic media. The total amount of extremist religious literature is 314 copies and 57 copies of DVD.

Criminal cases are filed according to following items of the Kyrgyz Criminal Code: public appeals to violent change of the constitutional order, organized activity aimed at inciting national, racial, religious or regional hostility, purchasing, keeping, transportation and resending extremist literature aimed at spreading or production and spreading as well as intentional using of symbols of extremist organizations.

Detained are put into the pre-trial detention center of GKNB.
