The cost of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway may reach $2.5bn-3bn, BBC Monitoring reported according to the Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Erkin Isakov told a news conference at the Kabar news agency on 6 October.
He said, according to a preliminary feasibility study, the project was estimated at $2bn. Since the feasibility study was prepared in 2001, the ministry assumes that the cost may increase.
