Kyrgyz Prosecutor General's Office demands making district election commission members responsible for allowing Osh mayor to vote without marking

"Prosecutor General's Office of Kyrgyzstan demands making members of district election commission responsible for allowing Osh mayor Melisbel Myrzakmatov to without marking, KyrTAG reports with reference to Kyrgyz Prosecutor General's Office.

"The Prosecutor General's Office appealed to the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of Kyrgyzstan demanding actions against the members of election commissions violating voting process. In this case, the district election commission should not issue a ballot to Myrzakmatov (without marking procedure)," the report says.

It should be recalled that this morning, Osh mayor Myrzakmatov voted at polling station No. 5277 in Osh without marking.

Presidential elections started in Kyrgyzstan at 8:00 local time on Sunday.

Under the new Constitution, the President of Kyrgyzstan is elected for six years and only one term.

Some 2,289 polling stations, as well as 29 polling stations in 23 countries will operate to hold the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan.

To date, the country registered a little over 3 million voters.

The elections are being observed by 792 international observers from 56 countries.
