Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev received Chairman of the Board of Russian Gazprom Alexey Miller, the presidency reported.
The meeting was held in Kyrgyz President's Residence in the city of Cholpon-Ata on September 8.
The sides discussed Gazprom's further activity in Kyrgyzstan aimed at ensuring of the country's energy security.
Miller spoke in details about Gazprom's plans concerning development of Kyrgyzstan's energy sector.
Within the visit to Kyrgyzstan, Miller will also take part in the opening ceremony of the First World Nomads Games on September 9.
In 2013 Gazprom acquired all the gas infrastructure within Kyrgyzstan. Gazprom as well as its subsidiaries, have the exclusive right to import natural gas to the country and is protected against expropriation and nationalization in Kyrgyzstan.
Meanwhile, Gazprom has to pay off KyrgyzGas's $40 million debt and guaranteed to invest over 20 billion rubles ($612.8 million) in modernization and reconstruction of Kyrgyzgas's gas infrastructure within five years.
