Kyrgyz-US bilateral cooperation has positive dynamics of development, Kabar news agency reported citing Kyrgyzstan's First Deputy Prime Minister Tayirbek Sarpashev.
"This is evidenced by the relationship on the governments' level, cooperation on the level of experts and business community," Sarpashev said at the Kyrgyz-US economic forum in Bishkek on September 25.
"However, the potential between the two countries is not being fully realized," he said.
"In this regard, I believe that the main purpose of today's meeting should be the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, establishment of the promising business contacts between Kyrgyz and the US companies, as well as the possibilities for the US to invest in Kyrgyz economy," he said.
Sarpashev also said that the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2013-2017 is the main strategic document for the country today.
Economic reforms over the next five years will be mainly carried out through the development of strategic sectors, in particular agriculture, energy, mining, transport, communications and tourism industry, he said.
"We hope that mutual cooperation in energy, transport, innovative technologies will help to modernize the industry of our country," Sarpashev said.
