BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Kyrgyz farmers increased the total sowing area of spring crops as of May 23, 2022, Trend reports with the reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
In total, about 668,000 hectares of spring crops were sown in Kyrgyzstan as of May 23, 2022, which is 5,000 hectares more compared to the corresponding date of the last year.
The area under cotton crops in Kyrgyzstan during the reporting period of 2022 expanded by 9.5 percent, spring barley by 9 percent, oilseeds by 4 percent, and potatoes by 3 percent in comparison to May 2021.
Meanwhile, the largest sowing of spring crops in May 2022 is observed in the Chui region (228,800 hectares). This is followed by the Osh region - (99,700 hectares), the Issyk-Kul region (99,500 hectares).
