BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 28. The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) has released World Economic Situation and Prospects 2023 annual report on the state of the world economy, Trend reports citing the UN's official website.

The UN's Department of Economic and Social Affairs forecasts Kyrgyzstan’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth at 6 percent in 2023.

According to the report, Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth is expected to be the highest in the Central Asian region. For instance, Turkmenistan's and Uzbekistan's GDP growth are estimated at 5.8 percent, Tajikistan's 4.3 and Kazakhstan's at 3.4 percent.

Notably, Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth rate amounted to 7 percent in 12 months of last year. The value of industrial production amounted to about 426 billion soms (about $4.9 billion) from January through December 2022, which is an increase of 11.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Meanwhile, the World Bank projected Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth at 3.5 percent in 2023, before strengthening to 4 percent in 2023. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) experts forecast Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth to be also 3.5 percent this year.
