BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 22. Kyrgyzstan exported 625,391 tons of cement worth $26 million from January through December 2022, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The figure is a decrease of 6.5 percent from 668,608 tons of cement for $31.5 million in 2021.

In the reporting period, the sole buyer of Kyrgyz cement exports was Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan imported 242,882 tons of cement for $12 million in 2022, which is a drop of almost 28 percent from 2021 (334,879 tons for $14.3 million).

Last year, Kyrgyzstan mainly imported cement from: Kazakhstan – 236,054 tons for $11.4 million (a decrease from 327,434 tons for $13.6 million in 2021); Iran – 4,810 tons for $576,800 (a 14-time increase from 326 tons for $40,500 in 2021) and Uzbekistan – 1,937 tons for $235,000 (a drop of almost 60 percent from 4,582 tons for $501,400 in 2021).

Some insignificant amount of cement was also imported from China, Russia, Türkiye, and Belarus in 2022.

According to the statistical data of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Kyrgyzstan produced 2.6 million tons of cement in 2022, which is an increase of 7 percent compared to 2021 (2.4 million tons).
