BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. Kyrgyzstan’s passenger transportation by railways and air transport from January through February amounted to 200,700 people, which is a 12-percent decrease year-on-year, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan’s passenger transportation by air totaled 166,900 people (282.4 million passenger-kilometers) in the first two months of 2023, which is a decrease of 12 percent over 190,000 people in the corresponding period of 2022.
The railways of the country transported 33,800 people (2.4 million passenger-kilometers) from January through February 2023, which is 10 percent less than in the same period of 2022 (37,500 people).
Overall, passenger transportation in Kyrgyzstan totaled 87.4 million people from January through February 2023, which is an increase of 5.6 percent or 4.2 million people year-on-year (83.2 million people from January through February 2022).
The main share of passenger transportation in Kyrgyzstan (93 percent) accounted for road transport (buses and taxis) in the reporting period.
