Hungarian companies eye to assist Kyrgyzstan in HPPs' construction

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13. Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Energy, Taalaibek Ibraev and representatives of Hungarian Ganz and A-HID companies as well as the Hungarian embassy in Kyrgyzstan have discussed cooperation in the energy sector, Trend reports via Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting aimed to implement plans that were discussed during Ibraev's previous visit to Hungary.

Following their visits to Kyrgyzstan, representatives from A-HID look at the site where preparations for the construction of the Kambarata-1 hydroelectric power plant are currently underway, which is being built to increase the country's energy capacity.

To build the HPP, a bridge connecting the two banks of the Naryn River is needed, according to the ministry. The management of A-HID expressed interest in constructing the bridge, having already built several bridges in Budapest.

Additionally, the leadership of Chakan HPP briefed the Hungarian delegation on the activities of their enterprise and demonstrated the operation of the HPP.

In turn, representatives of the Hungarian Ganz company expressed their interest in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the construction and reconstruction of the Small HPP. Earlier, Ibraev visited the factory of this company in Hungary, which produces hydro turbines and transformers.

During his speech, the minister emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has already started cooperation with the Hungarian Obuda University and noted that further negotiations with the current delegates will be held, opinions will be expressed, and plans will be implemented. The Hungarian delegates expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan in various areas.
