Kyrgyzstan sees 4.5 times increase in export of mineral water

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. Kyrgyzstan registered a notable increase in its mineral water exports from January through March 2023, Trend reports.

As indicated by Kyrgyzstan's statistical data, the country exported a total of 507,001 liters of mineral water in the first quarter of 2023, which is 4.5 times higher compared to the 111,256 liters exported during the same period in 2022.

The export value quadrupled, rising from $21,700 in the first quarter of 2022 to $90,800 in the first quarter of 2023.

Kazakhstan was the main importer of Kyrgyzstan's mineral water during the reported period. A substantial amount of 404,052 liters was sent to Kazakhstan, marking a 3.6-fold increase compared to the 110,160 liters exported to the country during the same period in 2022.

During the period under review, Kyrgyzstan registered a substantial growth in its mineral water exports to Russia and Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan, being the second-largest buyer of Kyrgyzstan’s mineral water, imported 90,705 liters. This is a significant rise from the mere 32 liters exported to Uzbekistan from Kyrgyzstan in the corresponding period of 2022.

A volume of 11,232 liters of mineral water was exported to Russia. In contrast, there were no records of such exports in the reporting period of 2022.

Meantime, in the first quarter of last year Kyrgyzstan also exported mineral water to the UAE (264 liters) and Türkiye (104 liters), but there were no such exports recorded in 1Q2023.
